The publication is devoted to the history of escapes of prisoners from the German extermination camp in Chełmno, which is not known to the wider public and has not received much interest from researchers so far. It presents biographies of well-known escapees: Abram Roj, Szlama Ber Winer, Michał Podchlebnik, Icchak Justman, Jerachmiel Widawski, Szymon Srebnik, and Mordechaj Żurawski, as well as less known attempted escapes, mostly unsuccessful. The compilation of short monographic texts with testimonies related to the issue of escapes will undoubtedly contribute to deepening the knowledge of the history of the Chełmno camp.
